Sugar Maple Leaves Autumn Splendor Puzzle

It's fall in southern Canada and sugar maple leaves bright colors, warm and cheerful, as the leaves are changing from green to yellow, orange, bright red and burgundy. The change occurs every autumn when the weather gets cooler and the maple tree stops making chlorophyll, which creates the green pigment. The leaves fall and blanket the earth in a coat of many colors. The maple leaf has been used in Canada since the mid-19th century, when French Canadian settlers etwas a green leaf as their emblem und the English Canadians etwas a gold one. Later, in 1965, the maple leaf was used in the new flag of Canada, a red leaf with red borders at sides. There are ten native species of maple tree (Acer) in Canada, and while the flag is intended to represent all varieties of maple trees, the leaf most closely resembles the sugar maple.
