Welcome to Yankee Dime, home of whimsical and quirky art prints handmade with love and humor for all ages. I love weird little animals in casual wear, drunk squirrels, angry lemons, and anything with a caustic edge. I have always loved to draw and paint but my career did not offer much of a chance to pursue it until fate barged in with her own plan. I am a TV producer who has set foot on every continent, and had incredible adventures along the way, right up until I almost died while filming in the Amazon. I was seriously injured and during the ensuing two years of surgeries and recovery, I fell in love with drawing and painting again. Although I'm back on my feet and back to work, I tapped into a creative side of myself that I forgot existed and I'm so grateful every day for this second chance. As for the name "Yankee Dime"... my husband was raised in the South and when my Mother-in-Law told me that the phrase "Yankee Dime" means a kiss, I just knew that it had to be the name of my Etsy shop. This is a store founded on love. Love of the natural world, of second chances and second careers in life, of weird little animals that have no business wearing bikinis or tossing back highballs, and most of all the love of picking up a pen or a brush and creating something out of nothing more than a wisp of an idea. When I'm not on the road, I work out of a tiny studio in Georgia. From my window I can see the seasons change and the world go by. Most days I can be found sitting happily at my desk with a rescue dog named Magnolia Blossom lying on my feet. Thank you for checking out my shop.
