Sophia Sophia is the sole designer, maker and creator of StudioSophiaSophia, a jewelry brand that caters to the lovers of colorful and bold adornment. She holds a BFA from Pratt Institute and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design, both in Jewelry and Metals. Sophia draws inspiration from her impressive collection of patterned garments, a freshly cut citrus fruit, mismatched socks, flea markets, shapes, shadows, a summer memory, a candid photograph, day dreams, rainbow makers, CocoRosie, Cirque Du Soleil, trolls, a homemade haircut, anything fluorescent, Mara Hoffman, nail polish, paintings, self-portraits, textiles, zumba, Marjorie Schick, Art Smith, The Memphis Group and most importantly, COLOR! StudioSophiaSophia makes jewelry that is definitely not for everyone. It is for the brave, the eccentric, the lovers of color and shape and grandiosity. She thinks of her work as wearable small paintings meant for starting conversations and making statements. She is currently living and working in Upstate, NY.
