Samshine

Samshine, has used many mediums to create costumes, books, videos, jewelry & art. She started as a theatre kid performing and designing her own costumes for the Palto Alto & San Jose Musical Theatre. She has fond memories of painting, drawing, writing, designing and starring in her own home plays for her family members. She has been using acrylics since she was a young child painting with her grandfather. She started with painting sceneries of trees but found her love in abstract art that focuses on the spectrum of the rainbow. She uses both acrylics and digitally edited photographs to achieve her finished design. She prefers to paint with acrylics on wood and cotton canvas. Through out her journey she has been inspired to photograph all of her creations and digitally alter them to enhance & alter the colors & textures within the creations. This is often the process in which she creates her abstract art. In middle school she explored working with clay by making plates & jewelry boxes. She has continued to study clay by expanding to polymer & air dry clay to create figurines and tokens in which she gifts for free when presenting her art or jewelry to customers, family & friends. In high school she started making jewelry with natural uncut gemstones. After college she reconnected with costume design, this time focussing on Burlesque. She created beautiful headdresses, animal themed adult onesies & body chains out of cloth flowers, cruelty free feathers, fleece fabric, gemstones, & pearls. In 2015 she started learning how to use a glass kiln and torch. Since then she has focused on creating authentic pieces of artwork & jewelry by using 90COE glass. She is most notably known for her rainbow dichroic pendants.
