Our Story At Operation Mind Shield, we believe that mental health is just as vital as physical readiness. Founded by Kayla Campbell who is a Navy veteran spouse, and James Campbell, who is a Navy veteran who understand the unique challenges of military life, our nonprofit exists to end the stigma surrounding mental health in the military and create a community of understanding, connection, and strength. We know that behind every uniform is a human being — someone who has served, sacrificed, and sometimes silently struggled. Our mission is to change that silence into strength by building a culture where seeking help is seen as courage, not weakness. Who We Serve We serve active-duty service members, veterans, and their families who may be navigating the mental and emotional effects of military service. Whether through peer support, mental health education, advocacy, or family programs, we’re here to ensure that no one who serves ever feels alone.
