Old Hippy Art is the culmination and continuation of a lifetime of creative and therapuetic endeavor on the part of Mikel M. Tolman. After the field of Graphic Art was taken over by computers, Mikel quickly determined he would have to use other means to support his growing family. Art became his hobby and his therapy through difficult times and in coping with mental illness. Mikel met a woman he had once dreamt about, Clarissa in January 2014. They were married and she encouraged him to continue pursuing art, expanding the tools with which he produced his unique pieces. He helped her to appreciate abstract art. By 2016, Mikel had gained enough confidence with his art that he eagerly exhibited it to anyone and everyone that showed even the slightest interest, and some of these people wanted to be able to purchase various pieces. Mikel and Clarissa began to toss ideas around. Mikel reminds Clarissa some of the man spoken of in a song by the Bellamy Brothers., though he prefers Classic Rock to Country. This is where they came up with the name Old Hippy Art. Mikel, in so many ways, is the Old Hippy.
