Über mich/uns
The North Shore Sea Lion was founded in 1626 shortly after Salem was settled by a band of fishermen led by Roger Conant. The founder, John Johnnerson, established the newspaper after going on a bender that consisted of hard alcohol and apples. From there, the paper just kinda' stuck around because, man, that was a hell of a thing. Ever see a man just go hard eating apples and drinking? Strange as hell.
The original newspaper title, "The 'You're Not Going To Believe Me' Courant" was changed to "The Why Are We Still Doing This Patriot" in 1845 after a failed "re-name our paper" contest. The current title, "The North Shore Sea Lion" was selected in 1967 because some dude in California bought us out and we didn't have the heart to tell him that the name was weird.
