Never Forget - Gifts for Vietnam War Vets

I am a drawer of pictures. I won’t go so far as to call myself an artist, but whatever you want to call it – I do a lot of it. For background, I was born May 13, 1946. I grew up in the little town of Rotan in Fisher County on the staked plains of West Texas. I enlisted in the U.S. Navy when I was 18 years old. I stayed in the Navy until I was 43 years old. I retired in 1987 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, with 23 years of credited honorable service. During that span of time, I visited almost every undesirable place on this planet at least once. I am a veteran of the Vietnam War. If you do the math, you know I am an old geezer. ABOUT MY DRAWINGS When I was a youngster, I drew all of the time. I drew men’s faces and heads and not much else. I almost never produced a drawing I could call finished. All of my work was in process. Back then I rarely let anyone see any of my work because I was afraid they would find fault with it. I pretty much gave up drawing while I was in the Navy, except for occasional doodling. As a matter of fact, I just started drawing again in earnest in January of 2017 after I moved from Texas to Indiana and found myself pretty much shut in the house during the winter months. I needed a hobby to keep myself busy with and drawing was the natural choice for me. Now I show off my work to anyone who will look at it I draw about many things. Most of my work is done using ordinary HB lead pencils. I am certainly not a Norman Rockwell but I believe my style is interesting and unique. I do not strive to make things look realistic but I always strive to produce drawings that I can call done. In many cases, the animals and humans in my drawings look more like caricatures than actual figures. I hope to showcase some of my work here. I will be offering some of my original drawings up for sale here soon. I will also consider doing commission work, on a case by case basis, for doing special projects.
