Her signature look is hand-illustrated with a style all her own: a little bit of whimsy, a touch of charm — and a whole lot of sass!
Ann Scott is now almost two decades old — and fashionable and feisty as ever. It’s hard to trace her roots, because she took such a circuitous route before making her market debut. However, what I know for sure is that Ann Scott goes back to a childhood dream.
The fashion bug hit early on, but it took almost 15 years to make the leap of faith and chase a fashion design dream. Off to NYC I went, got a master’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and spent the next decade at several prestigious design studios — Armani, Anne Klein, and Joseph Abboud. As it turned out, fashion design was just a means to the dream. While teaching fashion illustration at Parsons School of Design, I discovered what I was meant to do. And shortly thereafter Ann Scott was born — and I’ve never looked back.
The first incarnation of Ann’s style was a fashionable line of limited edition holiday cards. But, by the time Ann Scott was launched at the National Stationery Show in 2009, the holiday cards were accompanied with invitations, greeting cards, note cards and notepads. Ann’s NYC debut was duly noted as a fresh, new way to “write in style.” The following year, Ann went international with the “Fashion Chic” greeting card line for Groupe Editor.
Our stationery products can be found in over 500 stores worldwide. And the brand also has several licensing partnerships, including Hallmark, Papyrus, and Neiman Marcus. So ‘Ann’ does get around!
Why Ann Scott? I consider her my nom de plume — and a reminder that dreams do come true. I named Ann Scott in memory of the two people who encouraged and inspired me most: my grandmother Ann, who always told me that I should chase my dream, and Scott, a friend who believed that I could catch my dream.
