Rabbit wanted to return it, Magpie wanted to keep it, and Fox wanted to sell it for riches. When they heard a faint peep from inside, they stopped arguing and listened. Realizing a baby was growing inside, they built a warm nest from dried grass and guarded it through the night. In the morning, a golden gosling hatched and its mother arrived, overjoyed.
