St. Sebastian COLLECTION (M 013)

This painting was the central panel of a late 15th-century altarpiece from the Augustiner-Eremiten-Konvent Sankt Antonius in Cologne, Germany. All three of it panels are currently on display together in the WRM (Wallraf-Richartz-Museum). To its left as installed, St. Sebastian is seen curing the wife of a fellow soldier and lending encouragement to his fellow Christians some of whom are imprisoned; to its right, St. Sebastian is shown being condemned to death and fatally beaten with clubs at his second martyrdom. + Feast: January 20
