When I saw another similar c. 1470 Botticelli painting called Madonna and Child Enthroned with Six Saints and saw that painting did have the brighter Lapis Lazuli Ultra Marine Blue paint over the black undercoat of Mary's robe, then I tried to get a look more like this brighter blue with more contrast.
