Mahamrityunjaya Mantra (maha-mrityun-jaya.महामृत्युंजय मंत्र) rejuvenates, bestows health, wealth, long life, peace, prosperity and contentment.‎ The mantra is a prayer of devotee to Lord Shiva. Trayambaka is the three eyed one (where the third eye signifies the giver of knowledge, which destroys ignorance and releases us from the cycle of death and rebirth). Maha mrityunjaya is a call for enlightenment and is a practice of purifying Karma of the soul at a deep level. It generates divine vibrations that ward off all the negative and evil forces ‎and creates a powerful protective shield. It’s a life saving Mantra. Regular chanting will protect you from sudden death, accidents, famine, misfortunes of any kind, calamity and unexplained situations. Also called as Moksha mantra, the energy or heat created by chanting this, makes one fearless and takes one beyond the cycle of birth and death. This mantra takes you to your state of absolute truth, pure consciousness and bliss i.e. the state of Sachidananda[ sat- chit- anand and links you to the most merciful Lord Shiva. Take a glass of water, sit facing east, pray to Lord Shiva, close the top of the glass with your right hand palm, chant the mantra for 1008 times, spray the water inside the house, take few teaspoons and give it to people. You can invoke the energy of Lord Shiva in the water by doing this. Chant as many times possible sitting next to people who are ill or under pain. Regularly chant or play it in a recorder if there is a terminally ill patient around.If your friends or relatives are suffering from cancer, play the mantra or chant regularly to reduce the pain. The healing and nourishing forces enter ‎the human body through foods, medicines, supportive emotions, and encouraging thoughts. The ‎Maha Mrityunjaya mantra attracts these forces and creates an inner environment to enhance ‎their effectiveness. Make it a practice to chant minimum 9 times before you go to office or leave from the house or before going to bed.. Have faith and Lord Shiva is there to protect you. There are basically two ways of using this Mantra: A) A person can either chant 108 Mantra’s or a Mala daily. 108 is important because it has a great mathematical calculation. 108 is the multiplication sum of 12 and 9. 12 here refers to Zodiac Signs and 9 refers to planets. When a human chants this Mantra for 108 times all his planets and zodiac signs instead or making ups and downs in life come on track and stay calm and because of their changed nature human life settles again. B) When a person is scared of unnatural death or serious disease he has to get the Pooja done by a priest and the priest later on does a pooja in Lord Shiva temple and chant one hundred thousand mantras to benefit the person who has arranged for the pooja. Apart from the above two ways if a person lacks time but wants to get the benefit of the Mantra then he must go to Lord Shiva Temple daily and must pour water on Shiv Ling and chant the Mantra for just five times. It would be great if you can also put “Bilva Patra” on the Shiv Ling and the pour the Water. That’s a surety that within 15 days starting from Monday a person will start getting rid of certain mental and physical troubles. The Mantra: “Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat” English translation: OM. We worship the Three-eyed Lord who is fragrant and who nourishes and nurtures all beings.
