X-Ray Telescopes Ghostly Cosmic Hand

The “bones” of a ghostly cosmic hand become visible in this composite image created from the combination of data from two NASA x-ray observatories. Low energy x-rays are seen in orange and higher energy x-rays are seen in green and blue by the Chandra spacecraft. Diffuse purple images are from the IXPE x-ray observatory. The bright area at the base of hand is a pulsar, a rotating neutron star with a strong magnetic field.
