William Morris: The Acanthus Pattern

The English designer William Morris (1834-1896) created the elegant "Acanthus" pattern in 1875. The original of both the deep red and the gold renditions comes from The Art of William Morris (1834-1896), by Aylmer Vallance, published in London by Chiswick Press in 1897, in the collection of the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute Library (https://archive.org/details/artofwilliammorr00vall).
