Symbolism

Symbolism has been used since humankind learned how to scratch markings onto various surfaces. Used for sharing beneficial knowledge, these marks eventually rose to higher purposes in religion, and some believe even magic. Our imagery is often cross cultural, and the meaning for a symbol in one culture may hold a completely deferent meaning for those of another.
