GOES-T Weather Satellite

The Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, known as GOES for short, is a series of weather forecasting and storm tracking spacecraft operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The first GOES was launched in October, 1975. The latest series is the fourth-generation GOES-R series, which actually includes four satellites called Goes-R, GOES-S, GOES-T and GOES-U. GOES-T will also be named GOES-18 and GOES West when it reaches orbit in March, 2022. It is expected to have a useful life of 15 years in geostationary orbit, monitoring the environment for the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Pacific Ocean.
